    After 29 years as Postmaster for the Redby Post Office, Bridget Auginash worked her last day on Friday, September 26, 2014. She began her career after former Postmaster Claude Beaulieu retired in 1985. A new Postmaster has already been assigned to Redby. On her last day Judy Lussier donated a cake from the Redby One Stop as a token from the community for her years of service. Bridget was much appreciated, and she will be missed....

    The Red Lake Nation held its 1st Annual Fall Fun Festival on Saturday afternoon, September 28, 2014, in Red Lake. This event featured basketball tournaments, skate board competitions, volleyball tournaments, a tug-of-war competition, potato dance, face painting, big foot races, musical chairms, cake walk, gunny sack races, a dunk tank, tricycle races and more.     BEMIDJI -- Tribal members nationwide starting receiving Cobell settlement checks in the past few weeks from what has been dubbed one of the largest lawsuits ever against the federal government. Yet, thousands of people in Red Lake, Leech Lake and White Earth have not been paid -- because their whereabouts are unknown. The Office of the Special Trustee for American Indians keeps a list of people with Individual Indian Money accounts who do not have current addresses listed.
