BSU online programs garner "Students Before Profits" recognition

Sep. 26, 2014 — Bemidji State University’s online master’s degree programs in education have again been honored for their quality and affordability.

Nonprofit Colleges Online ranked BSU 33rd on its “Students Before Profits Award” list, which was created to promote nonprofit colleges and universities offering online degree programs that put students before profits and education before the bottom line.

In selecting programs for the list, the organization examined online programs from accredited, nonprofit colleges and universities with objectively lower-than-average tuition cost and then ranked the programs according to their affordability.

“Many of these programs are consistently ranked among the top graduate programs in education available by multiple national publications,” the site said in its announcement of the list. “We stand behind all of these programs and believe each of them to provide an extremely high caliber of educator preparation.”

BSU was one of only two colleges or universities in Minnesota to make the 50-institution list; the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth ranked 25th.
