Jonie Marie Johnson, 54, of Cass Lake, MN died Sunday, September 24, 2023, surrounded and cared for by her children and family.

Traditional Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am, Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at the Pike Bay Town Hall in Cass Lake, MN. A wake will begin 6:30pm, Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the Pike Bay Town Hall and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be at the St. John's Episcopal Cemetery in Onigum, MN. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

Jonie was born on June 7, 1969, in Sacaton, AZ, the daughter of John and Louella (Lewis) Johnson Jr. She was raised in Idaho by the Larsen family, where she graduated from the Snake River High School. She attended Trade School in Provo, UT, and moved to Cass Lake, MN, after graduation in 1989. She met Jeff Harper, they moved to Minneapolis, where they started their family, and she attended school. They moved back to Cass Lake in 1994. Despite seperating, Jonie stayed close to Jeff, Michelle, and their children. Jonie worked at numerous entities in the community, which she enjoyed. She was a talented cook and seamstress. She made roaches to moccasins, and other beautiful powwow regalia, she enjoyed sharing her gifts with family and the community. She enjoyed berry picking, playing games with family, camping, traveling to powwows, and shopping for deals and saving coupons.

Grandchildren: Miikawaadizi, Landon, Aniziigwan, Tavion, Easton, Kharion,

Sisters, Lavina Manuel, Nora Benjamin, Jolene Johnson, Darla (Tommy) Francisco,

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and all of her Larsen family in Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her: Son Truman Harper, Dad Stephen Larsen, Parents John Johnson Jr. and Louella Johnson, In-laws Dennis and Judy Harper, Siblings Franklin Manuel, Carl Johnson, Alex Johnson, Neal Johnson, Brian Johnson, Kerwin Johnson, and Reynold Johnson.
