Irene Annette Cavender

Irene Annette Cavender, age 69, Journeyed to the Spirit World on Monday, December 23, 2013 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale surrounded by family.

She was born on July 27, 1944 in White Earth, Minnesota the daughter of David Roy and Christine Rice.

Irene was formerly employed at Prairies Edge Casino as a bingo manager and facilitator.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoko, jigsaw puzzles, bingo! and Slots! Irene also enjoyed a good game of spoons with her family and loved spending time with the grandkids and great grandkids.

Survived by three children: Robin Cavender Emery of Northfield, Minnesota, Isaac (Katie) Cavender of Granite Falls, Minnesota and Christian Oakgrove Cavender of Minneapolis, Minnesota; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; sisters and brothers: Rose Anderson and Isabelle Raider both of Lengby, Minnesota, Ada (Roy) Hobbs of Hibbing, Minnesota, Herb (Amelia) Roy of Roy Lake, Minnesota, Leo (Marge) Roy of Twin Lakes, Minnesota and Robert (Kathy) Roy of White Earth, Minnesota; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Francis Roy, Louis Roy, Benjamin Roy and infant Charles Roy and by sisters: Della Roy and Priscilla Defoe.

Funeral services for Irene Cavender will be held on Sunday, December 29th at 10:00 A.M. at The Upper Sioux Community Center, 5722 Travers Lane, Granite Falls, Minnesota. Charles Hamilton will officiate.

Interment will follow at The Upper Sioux Community Cemetery.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2013 from 2-4 P.M. at The Upper Sioux Community Center in Granite Falls.

Honorary Casket Bearers will be Ada Hobbs, Mary Howard, Rose Anderson, Isabelle Raider, Dawnita Blackhawk and Patty Birkman.

Casket Bearers will be Jay Bury, Isaac Cavender, Chris "Oakgrove" Cavender, Herb Roy, Leo Roy, Robert Roy, Curtis Emery and Casey Emery.
