Steaven R. Brown, 54, of Bedford, died at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at his residence.

Born August 25, 1958 in Bedford, Indiana, he was the son of Elvis J. Brown Jr. and Doris (Beaulieu) Brown.

He had previously worked at G.E. in Bloomington, Indiana. Steaven was an Ojibwe tribal member of the Red Lake Nation of Red Lake, Minnesota. He was a graduate of B.N.L. class of 1976, U.S. Army veteran and served in the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Bedford.

Surviving are his companion, Ms. Bobbie Knight of Bedford; father, Elvis J. (Vickie) Brown Jr. of Mitchell; daughter, Lindsey (Zach) Terrell of Mitchell; two brothers, Charlie (Lisa) Brown of Bedford, Ed Brown of Bedford; sister, Dorene (Tony) Smith of Heltonville; two grandsons, Andrew and Lance Terrell of Mitchell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elvis "Buster" and Marguettie Brown, Charles and Alice Beaulieu; mother, former wife, Lesa Beedie-Bell.

Funeral service will be on Wednesday May 22, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with Father Rick Eldred and Deacon Dave Reising officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Bedford, with military rites accorded by the American Legion Gillen Post 33 DAV Chapter 2. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home.
