Mary Neadeau Roberts

Mary Neadeau Roberts, 76, of Red Lake died Monday, January 23, 2012 at the Red Lake Hospital.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Little Rock Center in Red Lake, MN. A wake will begin at 4:00 pm Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at the Little Rock Center and go until the time of service on Thursday. The direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born February 6, 1935 in Red Lake the daughter of Henry and Edith (Kelly) Neadeau. She was born, raised and educated in Red Lake. She lived in Minneapolis from 1956 to 1981 where she worked for PACO and also as an aide at Hawthorne and North Star schools. She married Francis Roberts February 22, 1975 in Minneapolis. She worked as an advocate at the Women’s Shelter in Red Lake. She raised 8 children and a sister. She was also a foster parent. She enjoyed reading, watching the cooking channels, going for rides, country western music and going to the casino. She loved being with her family, especially with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children: Bruce (Georgia) Roy, Ruby Gurneau, Cheryl (Doc) LaRose, Pam (Lew) Boyd, Scott (Barb) Ganyo, Halona Karlstad, Dawn Ganyo, Kim White, Irma (Duane) Beaulieu, Bev Neadeau, Troy Roberts, Sr., Christopher Kranitz, Teri Frazier sisters: Judy (Elmer) Neadeau, Bonnie (Ron) Smith, brothers: Terry (Vicki) Neadeau, Claude (Candy) Neadeau, Elwyn Neadeau, Stewart (Cheryl) Neadeau, Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis Roberts, brothers Melvin Morgan, Gordon Neadeau, Allen Neadeau, Konrad Neadeau, Adrian Neadeau, Alvin Neadeau and Laverne Neadeau; twin brother Joseph Neadeau; sisters Loretta Morgan and Henrietta Norris; son Marty Roy and grandsons Christopher Hanson and Louis Barrett, Jr.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Mary’s grandchildren. Active Casketbearers will be Phil Grolla, Merrill Neadeau, Kit Morgan, Terry Neadeau, Jr., Christopher Sumner, Keith Neadeau, Sr., Henry Hill, Sr., and Gerald Neadeau.
