    The United Tribes Men's Basketball team opened their season on the road against three Region 9 basketball teams. The first night the Thunderbirds were able to outlast the LBHC Rams on their home court, 96-95. Rob McClain led the way with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Xavier Norris got hot in the second half and nailed 6 three pointers on his way to scoring 22 points. Sam Pendleton hit two free throws with 7 seconds left to seal the win. It was also reported that the boat contained three occupants and one of the fishermen swam to shore and was rescued by some people passing by and the other two are still reported to be missing.     BEMIDJI—A Bemidji man accused of attacking another man with a pry bar pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree assault Friday.     BEMIDJI—Anglers fishing Upper Red Lake in northwestern Minnesota this winter will be able to keep four walleye of which only one may be longer than 17 inches, the Department of Natural Resources said Monday.     CASS LAKE—A warrant has been issued for a Cass Lake man who faces 14 felony charges after he allegedly barricaded himself and a female hostage inside a Cass County residence in August.
