Richard "Sarge" Lumbar, age 65 of St. Paul, Minnesota, passed into the Spirit World on April 24, 2024. He was born on March 14, 1959, in Cook Minesota, the son of Richard and Alma (Goodsky) Lumbar. He was an enrolled member of Bois Forte.

Sarge enjoyed going to Powwows, he loved his cultural activities. He liked to go to the casino, visiting with family and friends. He loved children, enjoyed being a great uncle, and uncle to many nephews and nieces. He also loved to be "grandpa" to many, going swimming with the littles.

Sarge is survived by his wife Billie Jo (Campbell) Lumbar, sisters Debbie, Audrey and Denise, many nieces and nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents Richard and Alma, and brothers Daniel and Brian Lumbar.

May Sarge's spirit find peace, eternal solace and happiness on his journey to the relatives who watch over us. Let us celebrate his life with gratitude and memories for the time he shared and the love he gave.

Overnight Wakes will be held Tuesday April 30, 2024 - 6:00 pm, at the Bois Forte Urban Office, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Wednesday May 1, 2024 - 6 pm, at the Bois Forte Tribal Government Building, Nett Lake, Minnesota. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, May 2, 2024 - 11:00 am, at Bois Forte Tribal Government Building, Nett Lake, Minnesota. Spiritual Advisors are Allen Hardy and Fred Desjarlait.

Honorary Casket Bearers are Daniel Lumbar Jr., Brad Goodsky, Travis Lumbar Sr., Leon Goodsky, Duane Lumbar, Chester Graue, Antoine Fairbanks, and Travis Lumbar Jr.

Casket Bearers are Byron Lumbar, Richard Lumbar, Joseph Lumbar, Danny Church, Gene Lumbar, and Petey Cree.

Interment in Sugar Bush Cemetery, Nett Lake, Minnesota
