Marissa Leigh Graves, age 29, of Red Lake, MN, began her journey to the spirit world on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN.

Marissa was born on December 18, 1994, to Kari Graves and Ramon Sayers in Bemidji, MN. Marissa grew up and went to school in Red Lake, MN. She then obtained her GED in 2018 in Bemidji, MN. She liked playing Warcraft/video games, hanging out with friends, doing crossword puzzles/word finds, coloring, beading and listening to Rap.

Family welcoming Marissa to the spirit world are, baby brother, Avery Graves-Cook, grandfathers: Roderick Sayers, Sr. and Francis Downwind, Jr.; Aunt, Rose Downwind; Uncles: Brion Sayers, Brian Graves and Joel Graves; maternal great grandparents: Clyde and Irene Graves and Dorothy and Francis Downwind, Sr.; paternal great grandparents: Buddy and Vivian Jones and Matthew and Ethel Sayers, Friends: Joseph Fairbanks, Jr., Hunter King and Simon Pacheco, and her dog "Pug" whom she missed dearly.

Marissa will be greatly missed by her parents, Kari Graves and Ramon Sayers; brothers: Brion Sayers and Xavier Sayers; paternal grandmother, Alfreda Sayers; maternal grandmother, Susan Graves; Aunts: Holly Graves, Dawn Graves and Kellie Chaboyea; Uncles: Craig Sayers and Roderick Sayers, Jr.; foster parents; Angela and Nana Dako & children and other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at the Old Red Lake Center beginning at 1:00 pm and will continue until the services on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 11:00 am. Spiritual Advisor will be: Jason Hart. Pallbearers will be : Ira Spears, Brody Sayers, Verdell Beaulieu, Jr, Terrell Kingbird, Craig Sayers, Matt Dudley, Denver Aragon, Clarence Neadeau, Jr. and Robbie Cook, Jr.. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brion Sayers, Xavier Sayers, Roderick Sayers, Jerick Head, Holly Graves, Dawn Graves, Ashantae Kingbird, Heather Graves, Jerilee Head, Tammi Johnson, Brett Brun, and Chloe Cook. Burial will be at the Graves Family Burial Grounds, Heart Lake. Arrangements by Whispering Pines Funeral and Cremation Services, Hackensack, MN.
