Carol Ann Martin, Gooniiyaashiik – "Snow woman", Kingfisher Clan, age 77, of Ponemah, MN, journeyed to the spirit world on Monday, November 22, 2021.

Carol was born on December 8, 1943, to Alma (Spears) and Robert Iceman. She was married to Elmer Martin in 1963 and they were blessed with four children: Karen, Roberta, Kevin and Gary, Sr., and also raised and cared for: Kevin Martin, Jr. Delmer Martin, Shena Martin, Pamela, Dewayne, and Kelly Iceman, Terry and Mike Iceman, Brittney White, Amy White, Mike Iceman, Jr., Hazel White, Michelle White, Debbie French, Debbie Lussier and Amanda Martin. Carol worked at the nursing home in Bemidji, the Ponemah School as a health aid and as a home health aid in a career that spanned 30 years until her retirement in 2019. Carol enjoyed taking Shena, Delmer, and Jeff to pow wows and liked travelling with them around the United States and Canada. Carol loved to watch sporting events and could be found cheering from couch for the Vikings and Twins and enjoyed watching golf. During the week she enjoyed watching the Game Show Network and never missed The Bold & The Beautiful. Carol also liked to car hop so she could get in a good nap. Above all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Those greeting her in the spirit world are her parents, her husband, Elmer; siblings: Robert Iceman, Byron Iceman, Darlene Cloud, Priscilla Iceman, Rosalie Iceman, Roland Iceman, grandchildren: Dana Martin, Chanelle Rosebear, daughter Roberta Martin and Michelle White, who she thought of as a daughter.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Karen (Dan) Martin, Kevin (Sandra) Martin Sr. and Gary (Glenda) Martin, Sr .; siblings: Phyllis Iceman, Ervin (Sherilyn) Iceman, Darrell (Janice) Iceman, Kenneth (Olive) Iceman, Ralph (Carol) Spears, Ronald Martin; Kevin Martin, Jr., Delmer Martin; Pamela, Dewayne and Kelly Iceman, Terry and Mike Iceman, Amy White, Brittney White, Mike Iceman, Hazel White, Debbie French, Debbie Lussier and Amanda Martin, all of whom she loved as her children; grandchildren: Shena Martin, Travis Martin, Kathleen Martin, Delmer Martin , Kevin Martin, Jr., Kristina Martin, Chaise Rosebear, Shalise Erickson , Garrick Martin, Jerrell Martin, Gary Martin, Jr., Ashlyn Martin, Kailyn Martin; great-grandchildren: Stephen, Anthony and Joey Johnson, Kallea Martin, Karlea Johnson, James Beaulieu III, Chaske Seewalker, Derrica Cobenais, Ethan Richards, Mia Hardy, Natalie Richards, Arianna French, Brooklyn, Cameron, Nora and Audie Martin, Diamonique Martin , Cylee Packineau, Jermaine Bender, Kaydence Martin, Cade Mendoza, De'Layah Martin, Cameron Erickson, Ivy Rosebear, Skyler Rosebear, Aurora Rosebear, Jess Rosebear, Skydancer Rosebear.

The wake will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Ponemah Boys & Girls Club in Ponemah and continue until the service at 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, November 28, 2021 with Zach Earley as spiritual leader. Casketbearers will be: Garrick Martin, Jerrell Martin, Travis Martin, Kelly Iceman, Ed Iceman and Terry Iceman. Honorary casketbearers will be: her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Paula, Jan, Missy and Mardell Iceman and the Community Health Staff Members.
