Myrna June (Graves) Spears, 77, of Redby, MN, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Sanford Fargo Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a small private family funeral service will be held with Pastor Matthew Cobb officiating, Interment will be at the St. John’s Episcopal Cemetery in Red Lake, MN, under direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji

A memorial and feast will be held when friends and family can safely gather, to celebrate Myrna’s life together.

Myrna was born on June 26, 1943 in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Rose Graves. She grew up and attended school in Red Lake and BSU in Bemidji.

She fondly talked about her trip as a young lady to Washington D.C. with the other ladies who were in the nursing program. Myrna married Don, the love of her life in 1970, she went on to start her career of over thirty five years, employed at the Red Lake School District as a paraprofessional. It was there that she found her passion helping the children of Red Lake and also making some lifelong friendships with her coworkers there.

She attended pow-wows, and dancing old style jingle. She enjoyed being an Avon representative for a number of years, traveling, going to the casinos, playing bingo, numerous activities outdoors, such as gardening, harvesting berries, plums, tapping trees for maple syrup, star gazing with the telescope, traveling with her family, camping, gathering and being able to name the different minerals/rocks, collecting coins. She always enjoyed listening to her favorite music, supporting local artisans. She loved going to visit her friends and relatives or even talk and visit on the phone for hours. She enjoyed helping out at the Elderly Nutrition Program. Myrna loved helping out anyone in need, when she could. She will be greatly missed by many.

She is survived by her four children: Roxanne Graves, Leah Fontenelle, Marie Spears, and George (Shelly) Donald Spears Jr, 17 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, special nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Those she will be joining again are her mother, Rose, special aunts, uncles, cousins, grandmothers, her grandfather, Peter Graves and too many other relatives that have gone before her.

Honorary Casketbearers are her close family, friends, and coworkers.

Active Pallbearers will be: George Spears, Michael Spears, Anthony Dow, Richard Clark, Dayton Carlson, and Patrick Graves, with alternates, Ambrose Graves, Harley Graves.
