Mary "Molly" Bunker- Hintz

(September 6, 1952 - July 16, 2017)

Mary "Molly" Bunker-Hintz, age 64, of Bejou, MN, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at her home. Molly was born on September 6, 1952 to Glenn and Phyllis (Ojibway) Bunker in White Earth, MN. Growing up, she attended school at Naytahwaush and later earned her GED. Molly went on to join the job corp that allowed her to travel to Oregon. She later returned to Naytahwaush to attend college in Bemidji where she earned a teaching degree. She began her teaching in Lac Courte Orielles, WI, where she taught elementary for one year. After accepting a new position, Molly taught in Pine Point and Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig for several years. Molly was blessed in life with three chidren: Michael, Sonya, and Nindonis. Nearly 20 years ago, Molly met the love of her life, Casimer Hintz. They were married and have spent their lives together. Four years ago, Molly retired from teaching but continued to substitute teach in Mahnomen. The couple has made their home near Bejou for the past eight years, where they have kept busy raising three of their precious grandchildren: Hunter, Peyton, and Wyatt. Molly was an avid gardener in her spare time. Her flowers, vegetables, and canning produce brought her great pride. Her cooking skills were second to none and she usually added her own touches, changing the recipe, always for the better. Molly had a wonderful sense of humor and a remarkable memory. She had a quick comeback for everything and you were never really sure what she might say. She also had a knack for remembering people's names, birthdates, family connections and notable dates in history. Molly also enjoyed spending time playing Bingo, going to the casino, and fishing in the summer. Most of all she was content to be at home, sharing a visit with her mother and spending time with her grandchildren. Molly is survived in death by her husband, Casimer of Bejou; one son, Michael (Lindsey) Bunker of Mahnomen; two daughters, Sonya Wade and Nindonis Bunker (Peter Alvarado) all of Naytahwaush; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandson; her mother, Phyllis Bunker; one brother, Mark (Tammy) Bunker; three sisters: Theresa (Jim) Loud, Rose Alvarado, and Marcie (Lee) Fairbanks; and two sisters-in-law, Millie Bunker and Carol Bunker. She is preceded in death by her father, Glenn, one sister, Kathleen; two brothers, Richard "Dicky" and Kelly; and several extended family members.
