JULY 7TH, 2015 - Beltrami County’s recently deployed Project Lifesaver has received a donation of $1,000 to assist in supporting the program. The anonymous donation was made by a family familiar with the consequences of cognitive and wandering disease and disorders. WALKER, Minn. -- A 44-year-old man was given the maximum sentence after he strangled someone in front of a child. Dallas Wayne Smith, Cass Lake, was found guilty of the felony crime of domestic assault by strangulation after a two-day trial in June in Cass County District Court in Walker.
