Edward Clem Lussier, Jr., of the Bear Clan, age 70, of Red Lake, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at the Red Lake Hospital in Red Lake. He was born on November 11, 1944 in Red Lake, the son of Edward, Sr. and Anna (Hanson) Lussier.

Edward graduated from the Red Lake High School in 1964 and joined the U.S. Army and served in Viet Nam. During his service to his country he met and married Lois Quincy the mother of his children in St. Paul in 1968. Following his service to his country, Edward was the school bus mechanic for Red Lake and he even drove school bus. He enjoyed watching sports like football and baseball, and he loved to go to the Red Lake Warriors Boys and Girls basketball games. He was even chosen at the number one fan. Edward helped raise and provide for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews as if they were his own children. When Edward was diagnosed with cancer, the one hope he held on for was the birth of his great grandson, Colton Edward Petschl. He was so proud when he arrived, for his namesake.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Edward, Sr. and Anna, brother; Charles Lussier, sisters; Margaret Lussier, Gaylen Lussier, and Sarah Beaulieu, daughter; Sara Lussier, step daughter; Dana L. Smith, step grandsons; Shawn, Victor, Vernan Neadeau and Chad Mostrom.

He is survived by his significant other of over 35 years; Delores Mostrom, children; Anthony (Jennifer) Bellanger, Leanna (Donald Good) Lussier, and Rodney Lussier, stepchildren; Sharon (Ronald) Kingbird, Vicki (Terri) Mostrom, and Kelly (Virgil) Skinaway, his sister; Edwina Lasneski, and Adelma (Jim) Oakgrove, brother; Herman (Marian) Lussier, 27 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

A wake for Edward will begin at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, and will continue until the service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, at the St. Mary's Mission in Red Lake. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate.
