Arnold Robert Stand Sr. “GiiWedinash” (North Wind), 78, of South Minneapolis. He began his Spiritual journey Sunday, November 2, 2014. He was born and raised on The Red Lake Nation. He served 4 years in the United States Air Force, Airman Second Class Fireman and honorably discharged May 31, 1961. Survived by wife: Lillian Stand; children: Madge Spears, Joseph Spears, Roberta Elliott, Cheryl Seino, Eileen Stand, Arnold Stand Jr., Roxann Anoka, Diane Stand, Valerie LaFave, Michael Stand Sr. & Ivy Stand; a sister: Margaret Shodean; 33 grandchildren, 96 great grandchildren & 9 great, great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by a son: Duane Stand, his mother: Laura “Lizzie” Stand, a sister: Arlene Carlson and by a brother: George Stand. All night wake Thursday beginning at 5:00 P.M. at The American Indian Center, 1530 E. Franklin, in Minneapolis. Prayers 8:30 A.M. Friday morning at The American Indian Center in Minneapolis followed by Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery Assembly #6 at 10:35 a.m.
