Albert Robinson Jr. "Uncle Al", 79 of Cass Lake, MN died Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Sanford Fargo Medical Center. Memorial services will be from 11:00 – 2:00 pm, Monday, September 15, 2014 at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, Minnesota with full military honors by the Leech Lake Honor Guard.

He was born December 30, 1934 in Cass Lake, MN the son of Albert and Mary (Snowball-Morgan) Robinson. He was known as Uncle Al by many, he was raised in Inger and Cass Lake, MN. He went to school through the BIA relocation program in Denver, CO to be an auto mechanic where he graduated top of his class, he came home and opened up an auto shop but closed soon after. He moved to Minneapolis for a few years and worked with his good friend Sherman Brown doing odd jobs in construction and plumbing, he also worked at a Paper Mill with John Dunn and his brother Richard in Brainerd, MN. Albert also worked with the Indian Health Services Maintenance under Ray Smith for a number of years. He also had his own garbage business and then he started Al's Plumbing and Heating which is still up and running by his son John.

Albert served during the Korean Conflict in the Army from 1953-1956. Albert, Richard and Sherman Brown were actively involved with the Veteran's Memorial Ground and the upkeep of the grounds and Arbor. He was very passionate about the veterans and services and the idea for the Veterans Memorial Wall came from Uncle Al, he invested a lot of his time and money into the development of the Wall. Uncle Al liked to attend Pow-Wow's, watch the Twins and Vikings, and he liked watching the native basketball players Shoni and Jude Schimmel.

He is survived by his Children (niece and nephew, granddaughter): John Robinson of Cass Lake, Jean (Charles) Bobolink of Cass Lake, Jaime (Ryan) Robinson, and 7 grandchildren – MaryJane, Nurse Katie, Charles, Jr., Lil Al, Tayne, Waaseya and 2 great grandchildren – Ryan and Ryleigh, 2 brothers – Dennis (Priscilla) Robinson of Cloquet, Robert (Linda) Robinson of Cass Lake, and numerous nieces and nephews and a loyal canine Brutus. Extended family members: Tim Connor, Rick Haaland, Ken Fahlstrom.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Snowball-Morgan) and Albert Robinson, 5 brothers Raymond Robinson, Ralph RobinsonEarl Robinson, Richard Robinson, Sr., and Ernest Robinson (KIA-MIA-North Korea) and sisters Margaret Robinson and Alvina Robinson Fairbanks Cadwell.
