Colette Renee Jackson, 43 of Bismarck formerly of Fort Totten ND passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at an assisted living facility in Bismarck.

Funeral Services for Colette will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dakota Baptist Church, Fort Totten ND with Reverend Larry Thiele officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery at a later date. The procession to Fort Totten will leave at 12:00 noon on Friday from City Plaza.

Colette was born on November 3, 1978, in Devils Lake ND, the daughter of Debra Herald and Ignatius Jackson Jr. She grew up on the Spirit Lake Nation and attended Four Winds School.

Colette's life revolved around her children and family. She spent her short life on the Spirit Lake Nation. For the past 12 years, Colette has battled several health issues, but her pride and joy, her heart was always with her family.

Colette's loving family include her mother, Debra Herald; children Tristan Jackson, Taylor Jackson, Lake Delton of Wisconsin, Precious Jackson, Alexis Blackbird, Ellie Blackbird Jr. and Alana Jackson; her 4 dear grandchildren Delray King Jackson Lelani Richotte, D'Angelo Jackson and Olivia Eback; sisters Clarissa Jackson, Amanda Jackson, Carrie Ann Smith, Megan Jackson, Alyssa Jackson and Meada Jetty; brothers Dolan Herald, Adrian Jackson and Jarvis Redfox; aunts Miranda Kahnapace, Tina Kahnapace, Cynthia Mann, Rhonda McKay, Phyllis Jackson, and Debbie Jackson; uncles Lionel Kahnapace, Eli Kahnapace, Kevin Kahnapace, Alex Kahnapace, Leroy Kahnapace, Milton Kahnapace, Errol Kahnapace and Burton Jackson; special nieces and nephews Aiana Richotte, Hunter Eback, Deborah Jackson and Nia Jackson; special cousins Phaedra Jackson and Eileen Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her father Ignatius Jackson Jr., sister Glynnis Jackson, grandparents Ruby Herald, Harvey Kahnapace, Ignatius Jackson Sr. and Sadie Jackson, great grandparents Lillian Chase, Emile Herald and Sara Herald, aunts Paula Goulet, Claudette Ross, Glenda Lovejoy and Adeline Herald, uncles Harvey Herald, Adrian Jackson and Phillip Jackson, cousins Geoffrey Lambert, Wade Ross, Rory Ross, Dustin "Cricket" Jackson and Gabe Smith and nephew Raymond Jackson-Richotte.

Urn Bearers will be Tristan Jackson and Philmore Jackson.
