Brenda Kay Bailey, age 62, of Bemidji, passed away at her home on January 29, 2021, after a long

battle with ongoing health issues.

There are no services planned at this time, but a celebration of her life will be held this summer.

Brenda was born in Duluth, MN on February 21, 1958, the daughter of Larry and Carol Oakes of Bemidji. She was educated in Duluth & Cass Lake Schools.

She was preceded in death by her brother Larry Oakes III (Patty) and grandparents Gladys and Francis Johnson, Hilda and Lawrence Oakes, Sr.

She is survived by her parents, son Steven L. Vankauwenbergh,

brother Greg (Martha) Oakes,

grandson Cameron VanKauwenbergh,

special friend and companion, Tom McClary,

and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
