Lady Warriors on 9-game winning streak with 98-64 over Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears

CLEARBROOK, MN - The Red Lake Lady Warriors traveled to Clearbrook on Monday, February 10, 2020 for a make-up game with the Bears from last month. Red Lake had beat Clearbrook-Gonvick on January 28th 84-68 in Red Lake.

In their quick paced offense, the Lady Warriors jumped out in front right away and slowly began to run away with it, leading 57-36 by the end of the first half. Red Lake's Autumn Holthusen led the Lady Warriors with 21 points in that half.

Red Lake didn't let up on the Bears in the second half, out shooting and rebounding their way to the 98-64 win. The Lady Warrior's defense held Clearbrook-Gonvick to just 28 points in the second half.

Autumn Holthusen led all scorers with 25 points and 6 rebounds, Gerika Kingbird had 23 points and 5 rebounds and KeLanna McClain hit 18 points while pulling down 18 rebounds.

For the Bears, Westrom led with 17 points.

The win was Red Lake's 9th in a row putting them at 13-8 on the season, (8-2 in the Northwoods Conference and 1 game out of first place held by Walker-Hackensack-Akley), while Clearbrook-Gonvick dropped to 10-9.

The Bears will host Win-E-Mac on Tuesday, while Red Lake will host Cass Lake in a double-header and host Roseau on February 13th. Red Lake will be looking for revenge against Cass Lake, as the Panthers won their game in Cass Lake 82-68.
