Mindy Jeane Swan, age 42, Ojibwe name, "Waase Anakwadookwe" meaning Shining Cloud Woman, of St. Paul, MN, began her spiritual journey on Friday, August 9, 2019, at her home in St. Paul, MN.

Mindy was born on August 7, 1977, in Bemidji, MN, the daughter of David Wells and Karen (Fairbanks) Solberg. She attended Bemidji Schools and graduated from Northwest Technical College with a degree in Nursing. She then worked for Indian Health Services in Cass Lake and Red Lake, MN. In 2005 Mindy married Jeremy Swan, Sr., and together they raised 3 sons. Two years ago, she moved to St. Paul where she worked at Boynton Health Services at the University of Minnesota. She loved her job as a nurse and went out of her way to help everyone that she could. She loved taking out of town trips that lasted more than a day, showing her creativity with arts and crafts, and dancing and singing karaoke, especially with her sons. She most of all though loved spending time with her family and going to get ice cream at Baskin Robbins or Dairy Queen. Her loving touch, creativity, and humor will be always rememberered and greatly missed.

Those that will greet her on her journey are her sister, Vonnie Knox and extended family members that have gone before.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jeremy, Jr., Tyler, and Trevor Swan; her parents, David Wells and Karen Solberg; brothers, Jason and Steven Wells; sisters, Kerri (Terry) Jourdain, Sarah Wells-Headbird, Sherry Wells, and Crystal Spiker; and her significant other, Amarin Chanthorn.

The wake for Mindy will begin at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 12, 2019, at the Vet's Building in Cass Lake, MN, and will continue until her funeral service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 14, 2019. Interment will be at the Farris Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN. Father George Ross will officiate the service. The pall bearers will be Jeremy Swan, Jr., Tyler Swan, Trevor Swan, Devin Wells, Terrence Davenport, and Sequoia Headbird.
