A multi-agency Riverside County urban search-and-rescue K-9 task force that went to Puerto Rico in anticipation of destruction from Hurricane Irma will remain there as the U.S. territory braces for Hurricane Maria.
The seven-person, four-dog crew had been scheduled to return home after Irma skirted the island — leaving an estimated 1 million people without electricity — but will now prepare for rescues this week, the Riverside Fire Department said in a Facebook post.
