Beltrami County is still growing

BEMIDJI — Beltrami County continues to grow in population, according to new figures from the U.S. Census.

The county’s population grew by less than 1 percent from July 1, 2012, to July 1, 2013, the Census reported Thursday. That growth represented an increase of fewer than 1,000 people.

Similar growth, by percentage, was reported in Cass and Itasca counties.

Clearwater and Hubbard counties experienced greater growth during the same timeframe, as the Census reported growth between 1.0 and 1.9 percent in both counties.

Mahnomen and Red Lake counties reported a negative percentage change, between -.1 and -.9 percent.

U.S. precentage change was 0.7 percent.
