Third Annual Elder's Gathering Thank You

Thanks to all of the organizers and sponsors of the Third Annual Elder's Gathering on April 1 and 2, 2013. Thank you Cheri Goodwin and Delwyn Holthusen for facilitating the gathering. Thank you Young Kingbirds, Red Lake

Nation Color Guard, Eugene Stillday, Stacy Thunder, Holly Cook Macarro, all the speakers, Mike Barrett, Millie Holthusen, Thelma and Billy May, the basketball players, all the young people and all the people with booths.

A special thank you to Roberta Boyd and Johnny Smith for all the planning and work they did so the Urban Elders could attend.

Being entertained by the talented youngsters was so enjoyable. We appreciated the youngsters greeting the elders in the audience at the gathering. They make everyone burst with pride.

We also appreciated so many gifted elders who entertained us in the talent contest, the shapey/shaky legs contest, and the king and queen contest. What a bunch of limber elders we have! Congratulations to our King William Spears and Queen Ramona Manuel.

Thank you Anna Gibbs for your skit. Thank you for all the delicious food. Thank you for all the donations of beautiful gifts for the drawings.

Because we were able to see friends and relatives we haven't seen for quite a while and because our people are so talented and so full of humor, this was a most enjoyable elder gathering.

Thank you.

Bette M. Bailey
