Mille Lacs Band candidates certified

The Joint Assembly of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe met on February 16 to certify candidates for the 2012 Mille Lacs Band Election. Eighteen candidates were certified to run for chief executive, five for District 1 representative, and seven for school board.

A primary will be held on April 3 to narrow the field to two candidates for each open position. The general election will be held on June 12.
