  • Bureau of Indian Affairs planning to re-open Montana jail

    The Bureau of Indian Affairs expects to re-open a privately-built jail on the edge of the Crow Indian Reservation in coming months after it sat vacant for much of the last decade. The bureau's director recently told a U.S. Senate committee that the agency is finalizing a contract to begin operating the Two Rivers Detention Facility in Hardin within the next three months, the Billings Gazette reported .     Once again, the Arizona courts have it out for medical marijuana patients. In a curious case of cannabis concentrates, Navajo County Superior Court Judge Dale Nielson has declared extracts illegal. The basis for his stance concerns the definition of cannabis in Arizona state law.     FARMINGTON — The Department of Diné Education has filed a complaint with the Navajo Election Administration to remove a Sanostee Day School board member from her seat after she failed to list two alcohol-related convictions on her candidacy paperwork.
