CASS LAKE — The Cass County Board and Leech Lake Tribal Council capped a two-hour joint meeting Friday at the newly opened tribal government office building in Cass Lake by signing a five-year memorandum of understanding to cooperate. PARK RAPIDS, Minn. -- A Bemidji woman was sentenced Friday to nearly five years in prison for a crash that killed a motorcyclist after she had spent the night drinking. Victoria Whitefeather, 23, told witnesses at the scene of the northern Hubbard County crash on the morning of Aug. 25 that she had "10-plus shots and eight-plus mixed drinks the evening before."
