Photographer's stop in Nebraska is part of effort to capture images of 500-plus federally recognized tribes

The elders from the city’s namesake tribe were a little unsure of what to do in the portraits taken of them in Fontenelle Forest on Tuesday.

But photographer Matika Wilbur, 33, was sure of her purpose as she directed the elders here and there among the trees.
