He was born October 6, 1958 in Red Lake, MN, the son of Alvina (Stately) and Harvey Strong, Sr.

Raymond was raised and educated in Red Lake. He was employed with Circle of Life and also worked for Seven Clans in Thief River Falls. Burr enjoyed watching baseball and football games with his mother, playing cards, pool and horseshoes, visiting his friends and riding around in the "gem" with Steve and sometimes being his Uncle Duck's chauffeur. Burr was a very gentle and kind person, always had a story to tell about Harv. Never failed to give us a hug or tell us he loved us, he was good to everyone.

He is preceded in death by his brother Harvey, his sister Mona Bailey, father Harvey, Sr., grandparents Roman and Rose Stately and Joe and Isabelle Strong, his companion Cheryl Patterson and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his mother, Alvina Strong of Redby, his children; Quentin Strong, Toni Lynn Wells and Jenny Schoenborn, his step-children; Bruce Taylor, Kevin Patterson and Sophie Schoenborn, brother; Steve Strong, sisters; Cheryl Stately, Jo (Larry) Dudley, Beverly Neadeau, Billie Jean Strong and Michelle "Missy" Strong, special niece; Neva, special sisters; Mavis Strong, Melodie Strong, Merilee "Buddha" Strong, uncles; Roman "Ducker" Stately and James "Gus" Strong and 17 grandchildren.

A wake for Raymond will begin at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at the Redby Community Center in Redby and continue there until his 1:00 p.m. service on Thursday, January 22 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Casket bearers will be Mike Strong, Todd Barrett, Sr., Randy Lee Barrett, Bob Dudley, Corey Bailey, Arlen Barrett, Jr., Bruce Johnson, Greg Stately and Shawn Strong. Burr's honorary casket bearers are Gus Schoenborn, Tami Cobenais, Patrick Smith, Jason Head, Mike Church, George Strong, Doug Stately, Rick Roy, Marliee Strong, Melodie Strong, Mavis Strong, Merilee "Buddha" Strong and Marida "Missy" Seki. Inurnment will be at a later date.
