June "Tiny" Ellen May, 67, of Red Lake, MN, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake with her family by her side.

Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the St. Mary's Mission Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with Father Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 11:00am, Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake, MN, and will continue until the time of the service. Interment will be at the St. Mary's Mission Catholic Cemetery in Red Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

She was born on September 24, 1946, in Red Lake, MN, the daughter of Chester and Mamie (Gurneau) Morrison. She was known for her cooking and baking, she loved to cook big dinners and bake for her family. She loved to have family gatherings. She enjoyed taking long rides down dirt roads watching for wildlife, having picnics at softball games, spending time with her grandchildren, she enjoyed the company of her sisters. She collected knick knacks, ceramic birds of all kinds. She was always shopping, and liked going to garage sales. She loved to garden, and plant flowers. She enjoyed lots of music, and her favorite of all time was George Jones. She spent her time at home, raising her children, and keeping her home. She was a proud mother who raised her children, and she was most proud to become a grandmother, each and every time a new grandchild was to arrive she'd count down the days. She liked to tell stories about her childhood and younger days, they always brought lots of laughter. She always had something funny to say or a story to tell. June was always there for everyone, and always helped in every way that she could. Being together with her family meant a lot to her. She is survived by: Sons, Greg Barrett of St. Paul, MN, Chris (Arlene) May of Red Lake, Rick May of Red Lake, Daughters, Emmy May of Red Lake, Amanda May of Red Lake, Jessica (Jon) Roberts of Red Lake, Sisters, Eileen Morrison of Minneapolis, MN, Rhonda Morrison of Red Lake, Marlys Morrison of Red Lake, Diane (Donald) Graves of Red Lake, 19 Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Grandchildren, all of whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald "Gootchie" May Sr., sons James Barrett, Joseph "Lil Guy" Barrett Jr., her parents, a grandchild, brothers Gary Morrison, Joseph Morrison, and Gregory Morrison.
