Maxine Noreen Brown

Maxine Noreen Brown, 78 of Cass Lake, MN died Monday, March 24, 2014 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Facility Center in Cass Lake, MN with Rev.s Mark Olson, John Rock and Barbara Fairbanks officiating. A wake will begin at 4:00 pm, Friday, March 29, 2014 at the Facility Center in Cass Lake and go until the time of service on Saturday. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born March 25, 1935 in Roy Lake, Minnesota the daughter of Thomas and Gladys (LaRoque) Leith. She worked for many years for the CL IHS where she retired from April 30, 2006 as a cook. She loved playing home bingo, crocheting, reading, puzzle books, cooking, baking and playing with Carlos, Jr.

She is survived by 2 sisters Margaret Monroe and Nancy Fairbanks; special nephew she raised Carlos Sargent, Sr .; special sister-in-law Rosie Brown; step-daughter Kim St. John and nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Delores Sargent and Sandra Chase, special niece Rochelle Sargent and husband Dan Brown.

Casketbearers will be Harry Chase, Jr., Dana Dick, Gerald Northbird, Jr., Ronald Staples, Jr., Jimmie Harrison, Jr., Calvin Sargent and alternates Thomas, Devery and Guy Fairbanks.
