Donald Stuart Dow, 50, of Ponemah, MN whose Indian name was Bimi batoo makwa which means "Running Bear" died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at his home in Ponemah.

Traditional Indian Services will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 10 A.M. at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN with Spiritual Leader Steven Jackson officiating. A wake will begin on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Boys and Girls Club and will continue until the services. Burial will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Ehrich, Charlie Johnson, Sean Stout, Kevin Heinonen, Scott Stout, Carter Dow, Keith Dow, with alternates Marty Raincloud, Brian Dow, Eric Whitefeather and Vincent White.

Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Bullhead, Gary Nelson, Bruce Dow, Kenny Iceman, John Stout, Spencer Whitefeather; and his family and friends

He was born on March 18, 1964 in Red Lake, MN, the son of Eugene and Ruth (Whitefeather) Dow. He attended school in Ponemah and Minneapolis, MN. He enjoyed life and was always joking, brought joy to his brothers, sisters and his many friends. He liked having coffee with friends at the ENP early in the mornings, helped his mom and dad raise Mary Heinonen, always willing to lend a helping hand.

He worked at the Red Lake Chemical Health, where he cooked for the kids, took them out on many activities like fishing, pontooning, bowling and the movies.

He is survived by his 2 brothers Vincent (Bonnie) Dow, and James Dow, both of Ponemah; 3 sisters Vivian (Blaine) Freeman of Ponemah, Debra (Steve) Stout of Minneapolis, Elaine (Kevin) Heinonen of Detroit Lakes; and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; cousins Diane Whitefeather, Natlie Weiss, Arlene Brown and Mitchell Perkins;and his uncles, aunts and grandparents.
