Woman found seriously wounded at south Minneapolis homeless encampment

The woman was found in a nearby homeless encampment. There have been no arrests

A woman was shot Saturday evening in south Minneapolis and found seriously wounded in a nearby homeless encampment, city police said.

Officers responding to a reported shooting at 6:07 p.m. in the 2800 block of Park Avenue S. found the woman at the encampment at East 28th Street and Columbus Avenue. Police said she had suffered a "life-threatening" gunshot wound

The woman, who reportedly was in her 20s, was taken by ambulance to HCMC in Minneapolis.

Police were investigating; no arrests were reported.
