Krissa Clair Weitzel

November 9, 2004 ~ May 23, 2024 (age 19)

Krissa Clair Weitzel (Babygirl) "Mikinaak-Iquay" (Turtle Woman) was born on November 9, 2004 to Angeline Rainey and Allen Weitzel Sr in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

On May 23, 2024, our family lost a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and cousin. Krissa was 19 years old when she started her journey with the creator. She came into this world when her parents needed her most. She was the light of their life, their main focus, and pride and joy. She had a smile that could light up a room. She was shy, but when you got her out of her shell, she would crack jokes, loved to cook with her mom, take car rides with her dad, and spend time with her family. Krissa loved nothing more than being with family and loved her animals dearly, her cat (Dusty), Dog (Bo-Jangles), and turtle (Quarter Bob). Krissa kept her baby blankets that she had as an infant and her wishes were for them to be placed with her on her journey home. A piece of her memory will forever live on through us and we will miss her dearly.

Krissa is survived by her parents: Allen Weitzel Sr. and Angeline Rainey; sisters: Ashley Rainey, Julia Rainey, Cassandra Weitzel and Alannah Weitzel; brothers: Harold Rainey Jr., Allen Weitzel Jr. (Hootie) and Alvin Weitzel; grandparents: Nelda and Lee Goodman; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, Cat (Dusty).

She is being welcomed home by her grandmother Lavonne Greenleaf, great-grandparents Susan and George Kapishkowit, passed family members and beloved Dog, Bo-Jangles.

The wake will begin on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 6 PM at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, Minnesota, and continue until the service on Sunday, May 26, 2024 at 10 AM with Spiritual Leaders Lee and Nelda Goodman. Active Pallbearers will be Leighton "Putty" Lamotte, Richard Butcher, Aaron Weitzel, Allen "Hootie" Weitzel Jr, Gary Auginash Jr and Harold Rainey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Enrique Santos, Kevin Rosebear, Timothy "TJ" Rainey Scott, Jayceon Rainey Lopez, Leon Nahwahquah, Mary Nahwahquah, and all her family and friends. Burial will be at Greenleaf Cemetery in Ponemah, Minnesota.
