Bernadine "Deanie" (Beaulieu) Bailey

Bernadine "Deanie" (Beaulieu) Bailey

February 3, 1943 ~ May 22, 2024 (age 81)

Bernadine "Deanie" (Beaulieu) Bailey, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND, with her son Sheldon Bailey at her side. She was born on February 3, 1943, to Bernard and Glendoris (Branchaud) Beaulieu in Red Lake, Minnesota.

Unfortunately, at the age of 3, she lost her mother. She was raised by Marian (Monica) Beaulieu, where she was privileged to inherit sisters and brothers, Nora, Candy, Westy, Verdell and Chuckie, later joined by Glennis and Owen. In her teens, she went to live with Sylvia and George Beaulieu. She lived in Red Lake for most of her life, except for two years when she attended school in Pine Ridge, South Dakota, and one year in Denver, Colorado, while attending Parks School of Business. After graduating from Red Lake High School, she then went to Bemidji State University, where she earned her AA degree. She later married Allen "Gus" Bailey for ten years. She worked at St Mary's Mission School for seven years, then was transferred to Red Lake School District. She retired after 35 years. Deanie loved to read her paperbacks. She would do her embroidery, making beautiful pillowcases, dish towels, tablecloths, etc. Her favorite outing was when her son, Sheldon, would call and say, "Hi" or "Hey" – Let's go for a ride."

There were many visits to Ponsford, MN to visit her grandmother, and her many aunts, uncles and cousins. All the grandchildren would play outside with farm animals. While visiting at her grandmother Julia's in Ponsford, when relatives knew she had a visitor from Red Lake, they would come over for a "Pug" card game for pennies. Much fun was had for all! She loved to give hugs to all.

Deanie is survived by son Sheldon; daughter Suki; and a very special daughter Angie Lauderbaugh (Leah); sisters Candy Beaulieu, Glennis Dudley; and special grandsons she helped raise – George (Connie) Bailey, Al Jr (Ashley) Branchaud, Shane (Tashina) Branchaud; 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Those Deanie joins are her son Vincent (Mac) Bailey; parents Glendoris and Bernard Beaulieu; brother Bernard (Joe) Jr; grandparents Irving and Julia (Vanoss) Branchaud and Charles and Carrie (Sayers) Beaulieu; granddaughter Jessica Bailey; grandson Michael Vincent; special mom Marian (Monica) Beaulieu; sisters Nora Thunder and Westy Beaulieu; brothers Verdell and Charles (Satch) Beaulieu and Owen Beaulieu; special aunt and uncle Sylvia and George Beaulieu and several other aunts and uncles.
