Lynette Straub

March 16, 1960 - April 17, 2024

Lynette Straub, age 64, of Naytahwaush, MN, died Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at the Mahnomen Health Hospital due to respiratory complications.

Lynette Jean Turner was born March 16, 1960, in White Earth, MN, the daughter of Thomas "Barney" and Lucille (Bellanger) Turner. She grew up in Naytahwaush and graduated from Mahnomen High School. Lynette was blessed with two sons and later four grandchildren. After her sons were older, she went back to school and received her degree as an LPN. Lynette worked as a nurse at Mahnomen Health Center and the Twin Valley Living Center before her declining health forced her into early retirement.

Lynette was helpful, had a great sense of humor and truly loved being around her family. She liked to keep her house clean and would often tidy yours up when she came to visit. Her spare time was spent doing crafts, mostly bead work. She made beautiful earrings, dream catchers and other detailed items. Lynette also loved to go to the casino and try her luck at the slots! She will be greatly missed by many.

Lynette is survived by two sons, Andrew (Rhonda) Straub and Thomas (Brandy) Turner; four grandchildren: Trenton, Larissa, Thomas and Daiyana; one sister, Patricia Turner; two brothers, Terence "Tux" Turner and Bruce Turner, Sr.; sister-in-law, Carol Turner; several nieces and nephews with Stephanie Turner, Aimee Turner and Bruce Turner Jr. holding a special place in her heart; and also several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Michael Turner, Sr.; and two nephews, Aaron Turner and Michael Turner, Jr.

A Time of Gathering with Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2024, from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Anderson Family Funeral Home in Mahnomen.
