Red Lake Nation Youth Council:

·Day ONE of the Red Lake Nation Youth Conference was a good one! Thank you to all who were in attendance for being patient with us & the staff while we got things going and organized.

Here are just a few pictures from today. The Red Lake Nation Youth Council held their own workshop today, presenting in the workshop - Nyah Neadeau, Kynsie May, Rhianna May, Lowery Stillday, Yasmine Prentice and AriYunah Strong.

Tomorrow will be the second and last day of this years' Youth Conference "Learning Leadership through Culture" @ The Red Lake High School - Registration starting at 8:00am. Tomorrow's Agenda can be found in the comments below.

We had 365 attendees, we would like to thank everyone who came to the youth conference. We are happy to have another successful event.

UNITY Midwest Region:

The Red Lake Youth Conference was so much fun and I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to run a workshop! Walking the "Miikawaadizi" Fashion Show in the morning with fellow Youth Council members, as well as getting the chance to talk about UNITY on the Red Lake Nation Radio! I'm so proud of how far these conferences have grown and I cannot wait to see any other future events/plans hosted by the wonderful Red Lake Youth Council!

My UNITY workshop:

In today's workshop, youth were broken into small groups to identify issues within their own communities, and discussing what their "ideal" Rez looks like. They then chose one issue from their list and worked together within their groups to craft a solution! At the end of each workshop, they had to present their #1 Problem + #1 Solution to the whole group! Todays goal was to push the self confidence within indigenous youth, because we are all worthy of making change within our very own communities
