Position: Extended School Year (ESY) Teacher

Supervisor: Director of Special Services

Terms: Temporary, Part-Time

Position Overview: To provide special education services to identified students during ESY programming for up to 125 hours over the course of up to 20 days during the end of May through June 2024

Anticipated #: Up to (10) ten extended school year teachers may be needed dependent upon the students identified for services and types of services needed

Major Position Duties:

1. Design and implement special education services per identified students' IEP goals and objectives for the duration of the ESY program.

2. Complete all necessary special education and/or district paperwork related to the ESY teaching assignment.

3. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Teaching license and experience working with Native American students.

a. Preference given to individuals with the following additional qualifications:

i. Special education teaching license in students' disability categories and/or related services (ABS, ASD, DCD, E/BD, ECSE, SLD, SLP)

ii. Previous work with one or more of the students identified as needing ESY services.

iii. Previous ESY experience.

iv. Previous experience supervising paraprofessionals.

2. Ability to maintain student confidentiality.

3. Willingness to assist where needed, ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, and ability to demonstrate flexibility to address student needs and unforeseen situations as they arise.
