Position: Extended School Year (ESY) Paraprofessional

Supervisor: Director of Special Services

Terms: Temporary, Part-Time

Position Overview: To provide special education services under the direction of a Special Education teacher to identified students during ESY programming for up to 125 hours over the course of up to 20 days during the end of May through June 2024

Anticipated #: Up to (20) twenty ESY paras may be needed dependent upon the students and types of services needed

Major Position Duties:

1. Implement special education services and programming under the direction of a licensed teacher to assist in addressing identified students' IEP goals and objectives for the duration of the ESY program.

a. Implementation may include:

i. Academic Supports

ii. Behavioral Supports

iii. Personal Cares and Adaptive Skills Supports

2. Complete all required paperwork related to the ESY work assignment.

3. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Currently employed as a paraprofessional within the Red Lake School District.

a. Preference given to individuals with the following additional qualifications:

i. Previous work supporting one or more of the programs with students identified as needing ESY services.

ii. Previous ESY experience.

2. Ability to maintain student confidentiality.

3. Willingness to assist where needed, ability to establish good working relationships with colleagues, and ability to demonstrate flexibility to address student needs and unforeseen situations as they arise.
