Angelica Marie Hoopingarner-Hale, 25, of International Falls, MN passed away unexpectedly on March 13, 2024 with her loving family by her side.

Angelica was born in International Falls on November 30, 1998 to Marilyn Hoopingarner-Hale and Farrell Kingbird. She grew up in Ranier, MN. She attended Head Start at Kootasca, 1st-4th grade at Falls Elementary School, and completed her education by homeschooling; educating through Kahn Academy, then graduating from New Earth Academy. She was very smart, especially in math, where she placed in the top 25% on World Math Day. She studied language arts, was a zealous researcher of many different subjects, and loved to read all types of books.

Angelica was constantly learning new things, including Japanese language, writing, and medical research. She loved manga, educational books, and fiction. Angelica was a collector of art supplies, cool pens, notebooks, and agates. She was exceptionally kind, and was always open to talking with new people. Angelica loved the food network, and made some of the best chocolate chip cookies. She dreamed of taking on cooking, embracing her Native American heritage, raising pigeons, and training a new service dog when she got out of the hospital. She was passionate about animals; continuously educating herself and others about them. She planned to own a pet sanctuary in her old age.

Angelica is survived by her mother Marilyn (Joseph) Napper; father Farrell Kingbird; sisters: Sierra (Robert) Sjerven and Nina May Kingbird; grandparents: Dianna Hoopingarner, Marlene Spears, Jack Kingbird Jr., and Kathy (Jim Lavalla) Napper; great-grandparents Paul and Carol Hoopingarner. As well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother Damyan Napper; uncle Ronald J. Kingbird; grandparents: George Hale, George Folta, Debra Gowell, and Blake and Gladys Napper; great-grandparents Mary and Johnny Morrison; and beloved service dog Duke.

A Prayer Service, Celebration of Life and open house visitation will be held at the Thunderbird Lodge, International Falls, on Saturday, May 18, 2024. Prayer service 1200pm-12:30pm and Celebration and open house to commence after the prayer service.
