Marie Julia Byrd, 80, of Ebro, Minnesota died on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Cornerstone Senior Care in Bagley, Minnesota.

A wake will begin on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Rice Lake Community Center in Rice Lake, Minnesota and continue until the time of the Funeral Service on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community Center. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Marie was born on September 26, 1943 in Bagley, Minnesota to Harry James and Laura Gladys (Marshand) Byrd. She moved to the Cities in 1969 and worked various jobs including at a video manufacturing company. Marie moved back up north to Rice Lake in 2000 and then to Ebro. She was a good provider and loving mom. She had a big heart and was always helping others any way she could. She took care of many people over the years. Marie loved to go to the Casino, playing cards (particularly gin rummy), and visiting family and friends. She loved all animals, but especially loved her dogs.

Marie is survived by her son, Duane; her granddaughter, Amber Berrard; and many nieces, nephews, and other loved relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Laura Byrd; her sisters, Josie, Joan, Daisy, and Cece; her grandson, Russel; and her nephews, Myron and Alvin.
