Bemidji's Peyton Neadeau excited for playoffs after seeing football career cut short

As the Bemidji High School boys hockey team turns its attention to the Section 8AA Tournament, senior forward Peyton Neadeau is happy to be on the ice again.

His final hockey season was delayed by two months. Neadeau was the starting quarterback for the Bemidji High School football team until the first quarter of the final regular-season game on Oct. 18. That's when he got hurt.

"It was an option play, and I optioned to keep (the ball)," Neadeau said. "I was running down the sidelines, and I tried stiff-arming a guy. He tackled me and landed on me. All of his weight landed on (my right) shoulder. I didn't even know I broke (my collarbone). I tried getting up, and that's when I felt it. I went down and saw everybody huddle around me."
