Gabby Fineday breaks 2,000 points as she chases down Taryn Frazer, Martin Wind

CASS LAKE – Gabby Fineday has put a lot of time into reaching 2,000 points as a Cass Lake-Bena girls basketball player.

The Panthers junior has played with CLB's varsity squad since her seventh-grade season, amassing five years of experience. On Thursday at the CLB Gymnasium, that dedication paid off with a striking cumulative achievement.

With 40 points scored in a 74-58 win over Pine River-Backus, Fineday surpassed 2,000 for her Cass Lake-Bena career, finishing Thursday's contest with 2,001. She added to it against Fertile-Beltrami on Friday at CLB, scoring eight as the Panthers topped the Falcons 58-34.
