Kionna Amerie Sayers, 18 years young, journeyed to the spirit world unexpectedly on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from her home in Minneapolis, MN. She was born on September 29, 2005, in Onamia, MN, the daughter of Cassandra Rice and Raymond Sayers.

Kionna was a beautiful young lady and liked to do her hair, makeup, and nails. She enjoyed ricing, beading, giving tattoos, and piercings. She was athletic, playing volleyball, basketball, and dancing at pow wows. Kionna was kindhearted, funny, and smart. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and playing with her little cousins. Kionna was a girly-girl, who also was not afraid to get dirty and work hard. She had dreams of going to school to become a mechanic. Kionna was an excellent sister, good listener, secret keeper, advice giver, her siblings could talk to her about anything. She loved trying to spoil her siblings any way she could. Kionna liked to talk on the phone and talked to her siblings almost daily.

Those greeting Kionna in the spirit world are her mom, Cassandra "Cassy" Rice; uncle, Dimitri Cantu; great uncles, Donald Connors and Dan Lumbar, Sr .; great auntie, Christine Jones; grandma, Evelyn Jones; great grandma, Vaughn Lee (Murray) Rice; and great grandpa, Kenneth C. Rice, Sr.

Those Kionna leaves behind to forever cherish her memory are her dad, Raymond T. (Beverly) Sayers; grandma, Kristine Rice; grandpa, Bill Pell; brothers, Jalen (Chasity) Sayers, Hayden Sayers, Braxten Pollock, Raymond K. Sayers; sisters, Amira, Kiera, RayAnn, and Stormy Sayers; grandpa, Frank Hall; great grandma, Marilyn Sayers; aunties, Marissa Rice, Miranda Rice, Naomi Rice, Larissa LaRose, Chelsea (Jade) Cantu, Anara Hall; uncles, Adrian (Vanessa) Rice, Charles (Daizie) Rice, Jonathan Rice, Gordon Jones, Allend Jones, Leonardo Cantu, Frank Jones, Vincent Hall, Cody Hall, Christopher Roybal; great aunties, Patricia Tanner and Debbie Lumbar; great uncles, Kenny (Brenda) Rice, Jr., Stan Jones, Mike Jones, Michael (Dyanna) Rice; numerous other family members and friends.

A two-night wake for Kionna will begin on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2024, all to be held at the Onigum Community Center in Onigum, MN. Kionna's Spiritual Advisor is Allen Hardy. Those helping to lay Kionna to rest are Adrian Rice, Charles Rice, Christopher Roybal, Jr., Joseph Lumbar, Gordon Jones, and Leonardo Cantu. Alternate pallbearers are Michael Rice and Kenneth Rice, Jr.. Honorary pallbearers are all of Kionna's friends and family. Inurnment will be in the St. Anne's Catholic Cemetery in Naytahwaush, MN, at a later date, next to her mom.
