Roger "Daddy" Dale Oakgrove, age 73, of Minneapolis continued his journey to the spirit world on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born on July 17, 1950 in Redby, Minnesota, to Lawrence and Cecilia Oakgrove.

He was a cool cat and he liked fishing, hunting for deer and watching Sunday night football. He loved his photos and his family. He will be very missed.

Roger is survived by his granddaughter Kimimila Oakgrove; daughters Sacred Oakgrove, Angela Thompson and Aletha Thompson; sons Larry Thompson, Dana and Nolan Nyman; brothers Ron (Donatella) and Raleigh Oakgrove; sister Janice Oakgrove; and the Goggleye Family - Euegune, Irving, Shane, Junior and Nini.

He is preceded in the journey by his wife Lucina Oakgrove; mother Cecilia Oakgrove; father Lawrence Oakgrove; brothers Zeke Oakgrove and Dodge Oakgrove; and sister Sugar.

The wake will begin at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at Indian Women's Resource Center, 2300 15th Avenue South, Minneapolis, Minnesota and continue until the service at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 8, 2024 with Spiritual Leader Joe Big Bear. Active Pallbearers will be Sacred Promise Oakgrove, Nolan Joshua Nyman, Dana Jarvis Nyman, Chuck Goodman, Clothilda Lynn Owens and Ron Oakgrove. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lynn Owens, Janice Oakgrove, Aletha Thompson, Angie Thompson, Pam Garcia, Dezzy Owens and Mimi Oakgrove-Owens. He will be buried at Fox Point, Minnesota.
