Judith "Judy" Elaine (Branchaud) Brummond

August 26, 1942 - February 2, 2024

Judith Elaine (Branchaud) Brummond, age 81, passed away on February 2nd, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. Judy was born on August 26th 1942 in Red Lake, Minnesota to Irvin and Frances Branchaud (Cook). She married Billy Brummond on October 1st, 1977 and they would go on to raise eight children together. Judy worked various jobs in her life including, Red Lake Bingo, Jourdain Perpich Nursing Home, and St. Mary's Mission Store. She was also a foster parent for many years and raised numerous children. She was most known for selling fireworks from her home and running her food stand for over 25 years. Her Mexican tacos and cheesy fries are well-known around Indian Country!

Judy enjoyed many things in her life. She would often say there was nothing she loved more than cracking open a cold Bud Light. She would always love to go rummaging and collect more knick knacks to fill her cabinets. She cherished her casino trips to gamble. Judy also loved to travel when she could, visiting Laughlin, Nevada many times. One of her favorite trips was to Nashville, Tennessee where she got to see everything country. Country music was her favorite especially Loretta Lynn and George Jones. Every holiday, you could count on Judy's house to be decorated from top to bottom. Her house was a top destination on Halloween as she would always pass out candy, chips, and pop to anyone who stopped by. Judy took great pride in helping families in their time of need. She was an excellent cook and shared her gift any chance she could. Some said it was her life goal to feed everyone on the reservation. She had many children who referred to her as "Grandma Jude" when they would stop in for fireworks or ice cream. She liked to quarrel with her grandson Jacob. Above all, Judy loved being a grandma and having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy; special friend George King; brothers, Larry Branchaud, David Branchaud, and Lee Cook; sister Patsy Rudolph; nephew Darren Cook, special daughter Celeste "Westy" Beaulieu, and several other nephews and nieces.
