Rachel Thomas to speak at sex trafficking awareness event Feb. 1

BEMIDJI - Rachel Thomas will give her presentation, "The Cool Aunt: Sex Trafficking Awareness," at a sex trafficking awareness event at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, in the Bemidji High School auditorium.

During the presentation, participants will learn the seven risk factors that lead to sex trafficking and get ongoing resources to avoid and overcome those risks, a release said.

Thomas is a UCLA graduate, a presidential appointee to the United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking and a personal survivor of human trafficking.
