Ross Dodd Jr.

April 4, 1980 - January 18, 2024

On January 18, 2024, Ross Thomas Dodd Jr., loving dad, son, brother, and uncle passed away at the age of 43 in his home.

Ross Jr. was born on April 4, 1980, in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Ross Sr. and Lola (Libby) Dodd. Ross was raised in the Strawberry Lake Community on the White Earth Reservation with his five siblings and extended family.

On October 22, 2006, Ross and Tina Bosch welcomed their brilliant son Carson Thomas Dodd into the world! Carson is Ross's greatest blessings and accomplishment in his time here on earth, there is nothing that made him more proud or happy than being Carson's dad.

Ross loved the outdoors, this love started as a young man hunting with his dad Ross Sr., his brother Matthew and mom Lola, along with his best buddy Peter Thompson Jr. and his dad Peter Sr. Ross also LOVED fishing, whether it was casting offshore with his Uncle Milton, on the boat with his Dad, Matthew, Caleb, Tim, Chris or whoever was wanting to cast a line or drill a hole. If you knew Ross you wouldn't be surprised to see greasy hands as he was always fixing something, cars, dirt bikes, snowmobiles ... anything with a motor and ALWAYS willing to turn a wrench to help a friend or family member with their car or frozen pipes or leaky roof, pull a well pump – he was your guy. There wasn't anything he couldn't do or figure out. He was our own "MacGyver" Ross was one of the most generous people I knew, he would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it.

This is just a tiny glimpse of the amazing person Ross was, the beautiful soul and spirit that dwelled in human form that we are going to miss every moment of every day and see in every sunrise and sunset. We praise God that we were a part of his life, to love him to laugh with him to hug him in the hard times as Ross persevered many storms in his life, it goes without saying that the trials and tribulations Ross endured also touched many lives, in many different places and walks of life. I know Ross would want to say to his brothers out there to find themselves before it's too late and to love your kids and families and know that there isn't anything greater than the love of family.

Ross will be deeply missed and mourned by his dad Ross Sr, his son Carson, brother Matthew; sisters Mary, Heather, Holly; nieces Anna, Lola, Brandi, Kylie, Heidi, Brianna, Haley, Lily; nephew Caleb and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ross was preceded in death by his sweet mom Lola, his older sister Jenise and precious niece Annabell.

Blessed be the memory of Ross.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 23 at the White Earth Community Center in White Earth, MN, food and fellowship to follow the service.
