PRIMARY FUNCTION:

The Licensed Practical Nurse position at the ObaaShiing Treatment Center (OTC) will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary Substance Use Disorder (SUD) treatment team. The core duties include coordinating information, staff time, and services to assure clients medical and mental health, and assure accurate medication management of such conditions as indicated. The LPN will also assist prescribers in providing Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) treatment, specifically with Buprenorphine. Although primarily a weekday position, at times non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends or holidays may be required. Reports to Executive Director, full time position with benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: (Individuals in treatment at OTC are referred to as "relatives.")

• Monitor and attend to relative's medical and mental health needs.

• Perform random urine drug screen collection and analysis from relatives and staff.

• Provide medication administration as required.

• Observe, document and report relative's behaviors.

• Work directly with prescribers in providing OUD treatment.

• Provide observation, documentation, and other duties as needed relation to buprenorphine inductions.

• Manage client and medical appointments and medications (as well as refills).

• Prepare required paperwork prior to doctor appointments.

• Coordinate appointments for obtaining admission labs within one week of admission.

• Maintain an appointment schedule and coordinate relative's transportation to/from appointments.

• Coordinate services with appropriate treatment center staff, medical, and mental health departments.

• Maintain medical supplies inventory.

• Assist RN in staff training as necessary.

• Respond to referrals made by other social services agencies.

• Abide by and maintain confidentiality rules and regulations.

• Abstain from consuming non-prescribed mood-altering substances.

• Completion of Nursing Assessment for all admissions. (Within 48 hrs of admission, and under supervision of RN)

• Facilitate didactic educational groups for relatives under supervision of RN, no more than two hours weekly. (Medical Director and/or RN will assist in curriculum development)

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have an LPN license and two (2) years of experience;

• Preferred 2 (two) years of experience working in a behavioral health or SUD treatment setting

• Able to work cohesively with management and local agencies.

• Must have at least two (2) years of sobriety.

• Must possess a valid MN driver's license and auto insurance.

• Must be available to work non-traditional hours.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test.
