SECURITY DIRECTOR

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

Responsible for leading and directing the overall security and safety of Seven Clans Casino - TRF. Provides oversight of the business operations of the Security, Safety, and Transportation Departments by implementing best practices. Provides primary and secondary direction to members of the departments in accordance with the organizational structure. Develops training goals and plans to determine the methods that will be used to ensure the operation achieves expected goals and objectives. Ensures communication and documentation are complete and in compliance. Prepares and submits for approval to the property General Manager the annual business plan, reports, departmental operating budget, and capital expense proposal. Provides inspirational leadership to direct reports and fellow leaders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

1. Educational level usually associated with the attainment of a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related area from a four-year college or university.

Experience

Working with a Tribally run casino and/or resort preferred or an equivalent combination of education with experience within specific areas of responsibility. The position may require extensive knowledge, skills, and position-specific knowledge, skills and abilities.

1. Eight to ten years' experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and upper-level management experience within a specific area of responsibility.

2. Requires five or more years of experience working with and/or for law enforcement agencies.

3. Requires advanced security and public safety training experience in facilitating, developing, and evaluating training curricula.

4. Extensive knowledge of public safety, security, transportation, and training.

5. Requires five or more years of experience managing transportation department, preventative maintenance, and record-keeping consistent with best practices.

6. Requires knowledge, skills, and experience in hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising staff, communications, decision-making, problem-solving, complaint resolution, resource allocation, and customer service.

7. Law enforcement experience preferred.
