Roberta "Bobbie" Marie (Chase) Matthews

November 16, 1954 ~ December 28, 2023 (age 69)

age 69. She was born on November 16, 1954, in Denver, CO. She made her way to the spirit world on Thursday, December 28th, joining her mother Valentine (Briseno) and father Arthur Chase.

She will be remembered as a beautiful person who always had a smile on her face. Bobbie enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino, people watching, and visiting family and friends. Bobbie loved to listen to music, walking in the rain, cooking amazing food, and taking her great-grandchildren to the park. Bobbie would always watch “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Law & Order,” and “Lifetime” movies on t.v. She loved getting everyone together for the holidays but do not put your cups on the counter without a coaster or it was going in the garbage. We take comfort in knowing she’s no longer in pain and she’s with her mother Valentine, brother Jim, and sister Tillie.

Those greeting Bobbie in the spirit world are her parents, Valentine and Arthur Chase; brother, Jim Chase; sister, Tillie “Toot” Chase; and ex-husband, Michael Matthews.

Those she leaves behind to forever cherish her loving memory are her son, Michael “Conan” Matthews Jr .; daughters, Lillian “Izzy” (Gary) Dahmen and Earth Matthews; brothers, Arthur B. (Sue) Chase, Joseph (Karen) Chase, and David (Laurie) Chase; sister, Valerie L. Chase; 12 grandchildren, Brandi, Tia, Scotty, Matty, Isaiah, Keira, Raven, Hailey, Aidan, Aisha, Ona, and Landin; 5 great-grandchildren, Dax, Calvin, Liam, Adler, and Messiah; numerous other family members and friends.

An overnight wake for Bobbie will begin on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. and continue until her funeral service on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Services will be held at the Old Community Center in Bena, MN. Genny Chase will officiate. Those helping to lay Bobbie to rest are Joe Chase, David Chase, Art Chase, Gary Allen, Matty Dahmen, Jacob Ellis, and Michael “Conan” Matthews Jr. Honorary pallbearers are all Bobbie’s grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cherished lifelong friends; Jude Gresser, Jody Dahl, and Nettie. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Bena, MN.
